WonderForge

Become a science magician — watch "impossible" demonstrations, form hypotheses, reveal the physics and chemistry behind each trick, then perform your own science shows.

Meet your mentor

Every Spark & Anvil app has a friendly mentor character that demonstrates, praises, and patiently scaffolds learning. On-device AI personalizes the mentor's responses to your kid's progress — never connecting to a server, never collecting data.

WonderForge is a science magic lab where you watch "impossible" demonstrations, figure out the science behind each trick, and then perform your own science shows! Every trick has real physics or chemistry behind it. First you wonder how it works, then you discover why, and then you do it yourself.

Distributed-narrative cast

Meet the cast

WonderForge's 5-character cast embodies the foundational discrepant-events / science-magic pedagogy primitives — surprise-noticing (Gasp, expectation-violation as the wonder-moment), hypothesis-from-surprise (Mull, the wonder-pedagogy inversion where guesses FOLLOW surprise), mechanism-detection (Spy, 'every wonder has a HOW'), explanatory-click (Crack, 'the wonder GROWS when you understand'), and perform-it-yourself (Encore, teaching-someone-else as the test of understanding). Marvel (mentor; renamed from 'Spark' which collided with the Spark & Anvil studio brand) frames each primitive; cast embodies them at school-science-fair / community-makerspace scale (NEVER stage-illusionist / 'I-can-do-magic-you-can't' gatekeeping). Mystification gate enforced: cast NEVER frames anything as 'magical and unknowable'; awe + investigation are structurally COMPATIBLE; Spy's 'every wonder has a HOW' is load-bearing across every cast appearance; Crack's 'the wonder doesn't die when you understand — it GROWS' counter-codes any anti-science framing; static-response gating for 'maybe it's just magic' / 'we'll never know' surrender signals throughout.

What's inside

Watch the Trick

Each activity starts with a surprising demonstration. Water flows uphill? An egg squeezes into a bottle? Watch carefully and try to figure out what is happening

Form a Hypothesis

Before the answer is revealed, make your best guess about what is causing the "magic." Is it air pressure? Chemical reactions? Light? This is how real scientist

Discover the Science

The reveal shows you exactly what physics or chemistry makes the trick work. Learn the real science behind the wonder, with clear explanations and diagrams.

Perform Your Own Show

Once you understand the science, practice performing the trick yourself in the virtual practice stage. Then create a full science show by combining multiple tri
