A cold front is sweeping east across the country. What is actually driving it?
Press then says: “Fronts drift across the map on their own, with no connection to where the highs and lows sit.” — is that right?
The link: the pressure gradient is the engine that drives the fronts.

Loft (the water cycle and lifting — evaporation, condensation, rising air) × Brew (storm formation — instability plus moisture plus lifting)
A hot, humid day turns into a towering thunderstorm. Why does Brew depend on Loft?
Loft then says: “Storms form without any lifting of moist air; rising and condensing have nothing to do with it.” — is that right?
The link: rising moist air is one of the ingredients a storm is built from.
