A pin and a skewer both line up two pieces. What's the one difference between them?
Sir Pinwell then says: “A pin and a skewer are completely different tactics with nothing in common.” — is that right?
Now they see it: pin and skewer aren't two tricks to memorize — they're one idea, inverted.
Twin Knights of Fork Hill (the fork (one piece attacks two targets at once)) × Captain Crossfire (the double attack (one move creates two threats))
How is the Twin Knights' fork related to Captain Crossfire's double attack?
Twin Knights of Fork Hill then says: “A fork and a double attack are unrelated — a fork can only be done by a knight.” — is that right?
Now they see it: spot the goal (two threats at once) and the fork is just how one piece gets there.
Veil & Vow (the discovered attack (move a front piece to UNVEIL a threat from behind)) × The Glass Lantern (the x-ray (a threat that acts THROUGH a piece on the same line))

Five positions, one winning tactic each. Each part below needs ONE of the cast's ideas — bring in the right tactician for each.
A knight is frozen — if it moves, the queen behind it is captured.
Your knight lands attacking the enemy king AND rook at the same time.
You check the king, forcing it to step aside — and the queen behind it is now yours.
You move your bishop away, and suddenly your rook (hidden behind it) attacks the queen.
