The classroom was a zoo vs the classroom was like a zoo. How are Ferry and Ripple the same move?
Ferry then says: “The classroom was like a zoo is a metaphor because it compares two things.” — is that right?
IS it, or is it LIKE it — one comparison, two strengths.
Chain (alliteration — words sharing a first sound) × Clang (onomatopoeia — words that sound like the thing they name)
Buzzing bees and the wind whooshed both delight the ear. What do Chain and Clang share?
Chain then says: “Onomatopoeia and alliteration are meaning tricks, like metaphor.” — is that right?
Not what the words mean — what they sound like.
