MelodyMice
Early Music + Rhythm for Ages 5-7 — rhythm patterns, instrument identification, call-and-response melody. Squeak (mouse-musician mascot) guides early music exposure.
Meet your mentor
Every Spark & Anvil app has a friendly mentor character that demonstrates, praises, and patiently scaffolds learning. On-device AI personalizes the mentor's responses to your kid's progress — never connecting to a server, never collecting data.
#D8A8E0 Distributed-narrative cast
Meet the cast
MelodyMice's 3-character supporting cast (Wave 29 — Younger Cluster Variant; ages 5-7) embodies early-music primitives as concrete-physical mouse-band mates — steady beat / rhythm-keeping (Tap-Tap), call-and-response melody (Sing-Back), instrument exploration + timbre (Shaky). Following the MotifLab Wave 7 hero-as-protagonist pattern adapted for ages 5-7, Squeak (mouse-musician mascot + AI music coach) remains the protagonist + band-leader; cast members are MOUSE-BAND MATES (same species family for visual cohesion). Cast fades by kit 8 (cast-farewell — kid composes/plays tiny song with Squeak alone). Catchphrases ≤6 words pairing action with invitation (`Steady beat. Keep going.` / `I sing. You sing.` / `New sound. Try it.`). CRITICAL music-anxiety prevention gate: no pitch-accuracy gating on Sing-Back (kids 5-7 sing what they hear; pitch-graded feedback IS the shame-vector); no beat-precision gating on Tap-Tap (tapping at all is success state); celebrate participation never accuracy; no off-key / wrong-note framing ever. Kit 7 (Songs from Around the World) is cultural-credit-led — cast PLAYS source-community songs but framing copy credits communities by name (cast NEVER speaks from any cultural tradition). Voice-recording features deferred to v2 per COPPA + 2026 amendments. Sing-Back replaces initially-proposed Echo per 3rd-instance audio-context collision (ActiveForge Coach Echo + FunctionForge constant-Echo).
Tap-Tap
Steady beat / rhythm-keeping — soft cream-and-grey field-mouse-kid in striped overalls + chunky boots; visible tap-tap-tap sound-dots from foot; tiny tambourine clipped to belt
Sing-Back
Call-and-response — warm-russet dormouse-kid in soft acorn-cap + bowtie; musical-note sparkles from mouth on call; hand cupped behind ear on response-wait
Shaky
Instrument exploration + timbre — soft warm-amber harvest-mouse-kid in pocketed overalls full of mini-instruments; different instrument in paw each scene; shake/ring/boom sparkles match active instrument
