Meet your mentor

Every Spark & Anvil app has a friendly mentor character that demonstrates, praises, and patiently scaffolds learning. On-device AI personalizes the mentor's responses to your kid's progress — never connecting to a server, never collecting data.

Distributed-narrative cast

Meet the cast

LyricForge's 5-character supporting cast embodies lyric-craft primitives — rhyme / vowel-echo (Chime), meter / cadence (Step), hook / chorus anchor (Holler), bridge / off-the-path (Turn), and image / sensory anchor (Spark). Following the MotifLab Wave 7 hero-as-protagonist pattern, Pip (the sparrow mascot + AI Socratic lyric collaborator) remains the protagonist + relational anchor; cast members are Pip's meadow bench-mates — birds and creatures Pip introduces from his songwriting circle. Cast fades by kit 12 so kits 13-16 (multi-form anthology + cross-cluster export) read as integrative. Mascotizing gate: NO character is named after the craft term — Chime (not 'Rhyme'), Step (not 'Meter'), Holler (not 'Hook'), Turn (not 'Bridge'), Spark (not 'Image'). Echo → Chime + Hook → Holler renames in this batch resolve cumulative-cast collisions.

Chime portrait

Chime

Rhyme / vowel-echo — chickadee-tween whose listening-cupped wing catches and returns rhyming partners

Step portrait

Step

Meter / cadence — rabbit-tween whose hop-rhythm enacts the stressed-syllable pattern

Holler portrait

Holler

Hook / chorus anchor — bullfinch-tween with megaphone who picks ONE line and makes it sing-back-loud

Turn portrait

Turn

Bridge / off-the-path — crow-tween in a long traveling coat who walks the lyric into a new feeling and earns the return

Spark portrait

Spark

Image / sensory anchor — firefly-tween whose abdomen brightens ONLY on specific concrete word-choices (dim on abstractions)
